HONDA BF20
If you’re inspired to select an engine to match the tender of your dreams after reading this month’s tenders feature, check out the Honda line of four-stroke outboards.

Honda’s BF20 model is a suitable choice for small-to-mid-sized inflatables, because it has the largest displacement in its class, in addition to the strongest torque and highest battery charging power. The company’s long-standing reputation for long-term durability and clean, quiet operation has led many tender manufacturers such as Caribe Inflatables, Nautica International and Novurania to equip their models with Honda engines.

At 101 pounds, Honda Marine’s BF20 weighs less than some 9.9 hp motors currently on the market. The engine’s long-stroke design and 350cc displacement provide optimum torque throughout the rpm range. Additionally, an integrated carrying handle and programmed ignition are offered as standard features.

For increased control and reduced steering effort, the BF20 is designed with a longer tiller handle made of a new lightweight composite for increased durability and weight reduction.

A low 2.33:1 gear ratio and 4-blade Power Thrust propeller combine to produce more thrust in forward and reverse while an exhaust outlet above the anti-ventilation plate allows the propeller to run in undisturbed water, resulting in even greater thrust. The company’s entire line of engines meets California’s Air Resources Board (CARB) 3-Star standards, ensuring their availability and regulatory compliance in all 50 states.

Participating Honda Marine dealers are offering special financing (as low as 6.5%) and deferred payments of up to 90 days through Honda Financial Services through May 31 for qualified boaters purchasing new, unregistered Honda outboards (2-225 hp) and inclusive boat, motor and trailer packages.
