The water temperatures are slowly inching up at both San Clemente and Catalina islands. A couple of yellowtail and white seabass were reported off San Clemente Island this past week, and the calico bite is starting to improve. Catalina is still very tough for surface species, but a few barracuda and bonito have been breezing around this past week. It’s about that time of year when barracuda pop along the coast and at the islands. Both islands are producing a lot of rockfish, however.
