YELLOWTAIL AND BARRACUDA OUT OF SAN DIEGO:
Posted On May 23, 2012
While most of the San Diego-based half- and three-quarter-day boats continue to focus on rockfish, most are also taking a look at yellowtail and barracuda in that stretch of water from Ensenada up to the Point Loma kelp. More fish continue to move into this zone -- and San Diego boats reported 13 yellowtail and 89 barracuda May 16 for 115 anglers on eight boats out of the three landings. It’s not wide-open yet, but the tides improve each day this week into the great tides late in the week and through the weekend.
