GENERAL UPDATE: General trout season is closed, but many waters in Inyo and Mono counties remain open year-around. Anglers should check the regulations on open waters and special restrictions. TOP NEWS: Heavy rain and snow for much of the past week. The lower Owens River below Pleasant Valley Reservoir has been flowing at nearly 162 cfs this past week. The West Walker has been between 155 and 180 cfs this past week. The East Walker has been stepped up to 165 cfs as of Wednesday this week, stepping up from just under 30 cfs a week ago. Almost no fishing pressure at any of the year-around waters, although the upper Owens has had a few anglers and they all report tough fishing but a lot of big rainbows up out of Crowley in the Hot Fingers stretch of the river. Access to the upper Owens and Hot Creek is via snowshoes and snowmobile right now. Be prepared for cold conditions and snow.
