TOP NEWS: General slowing at all Eastern Sierra waters this past week since the opener. In the Bridgeport region, the top bet is Bridgeport Reservoir, but the shore bite has toughened up. Boat anglers are still seeing good action both trolling and bait fishing with a lot of fish to five pounds. The Twin Lakes at Bridgeport slowed dramatically with just slow to fair action on smaller fish. The West Walker is a torrent and slow, and the East Walker saw its flows jump from 625 cfs to 830 cfs by Wednesday this week. Tough fishing at those flows. The ice-fishing at Big Virginia is still fair to good, but Little Virginia is slower.

In the June Lake region, June Lake continues to be fair to good with some nice cutthroats reported. Grant is also pretty good for close-to-shore trollers, while Silver and Gull are fair at best. Rush Creek slowed, but all the waters were slated to get DFW fish this week.

In the Mammoth region, Crowley Lake remains pretty good for fly anglers fishing midge patterns, and bait anglers fishing PowerBait and PowerMice. Convict Lake is fair to good, but the Mammoth Lakes are all slow to fair through the ice. Rock Creek Lake is still frozen.

In the Bishop region, Bishop Creek is running pretty high, but the fishing was very good, especially in the lower river and at Intake II. Sabrina Lake ice anglers continue to report good results on pan-sized rainbows. North Lake and South Lake still do not have road access and South Lake is still frozen, too. The lower Owens River is a torrent and effectively unfishable.
