TOP NEWS: Fair to good action throughout the Eastern Sierra. In the Bridgeport region, the top bet is still Bridgeport Reservoir for boat anglers with the shore bite tougher. Trolling and bait fishing are both producing with a lot of fish to five pounds. The Twin Lakes at Bridgeport has slow to fair action on smaller fish. The West Walker is a torrent and slow, and the East Walker is also still pretty tough with high flows — 800 cfs-plus — but a few fish are showing for diligent stream and nymph anglers using a lot of lead. The ice-fishing at Big Virginia is still fair to good, but Little Virginia is slower. The road is open all the way to the lakes now.
In the June Lake region, June Lake continues to be fair to good with some nice cutthroats reported. Grant is also pretty good for close-to-shore trollers, while Silver and Gull are fair at best. Rush Creek slowed, but all the waters improved after getting DFW trout last week.

In the Mammoth region, Crowley Lake remains pretty good for fly anglers fishing midge patterns, and bait anglers fishing PowerBait and PowerMice. The Uppoer Owens and smaller Crowley tribs have a good run of spawners, both rainbows and cutthoats, and the fly-fishing bite is pretty good. Convict Lake is fair to good, but the Mammoth Lakes are all slow to fair through the ice. Rock Creek Lake is still frozen.
In the Bishop region, Bishop Creek is running pretty high, but the fishing was very good, especially in the lower river and at Intake II. Sabrina Lake ice anglers continue to report good results on pan-sized rainbows. North Lake and South Lake still do not have road access and South Lake is still frozen, too. The lower Owens River is a torrent and effectively unfishable.
