GENERAL UPDATE: The general season closed Sunday, Nov. 15. A number of waters remain open to year-around, catch-and-release fishing.
TOP NEWS: Almost no fishing pressure anywhere, but a handful of anglers for fishing the upper Owens above Crowley for the big rainbows and cutthroat hybrids that pack into the river in the winter. The East Walker River has had little pressure, but anglers fishing are getting a few rainbows in the Miracle Mile stretch and some browns below the bridge, mostly on midges or small nymphs. The West Walker River has been untouched. Hot Creek continues to have some pretty good midge and baetis hatches but light fishing pressure. The lower Owens River has low flows and fair action on small nymphs or streamers.
