Fish Report-Freshwater, July 8

TOP NEWS: Overall, the fish remains fair to good throughout the Eastern Sierra. With warm weather and thunderstorms the past week, the best fishing has been early and late in the day. Mosquitos are also out in force most places, so bug repellant is recommended. Top fishing spots continue to be the Virginia Lakes and Crowley Lake. The week?s best catches: Nathan Timm, Oak Hills, caught a nine-pound rainbow on a nightcrawler from Lake George in the Mammoth Lakes on July 4. Dominic Scheetz, Shadow Hills, landed a 6-10 rainbow on a bubblegum Mice Tail from Big Virginia Lake. At Convict Lake, Jackie Bentley, visiting from Austin, Texas, landed a 6-9 rainbow.
