Blue Star Jack Record?

By: FishRap Staff

Kathy Rounds made the 23-day trip to Clipperton Atoll aboard Royal Polaris a good one with what she will enter for an apparent world record: a blue star jack (or bluefin trevally) of 29.2 pounds. She caught the fish from a skiff in the shallows, on a “green with pink dots” colored Salas 7X jig. The women’s 30-pound line class record is 19.13 pounds, caught in 1996; and the all-tackle record is 26.7 pounds, caught in 1997.
