SANTA ANA — One of Dana Point Harbor’s original tenants will work with Orange County to maintain good relations with the public and make certain exterior upgrades as part of the waterfront’s long-planned revitalization project.
The Orange County Board of Supervisors approved a second amendment to lease terms with Dana Wharf Sportfishing on Dec. 8. The new lease terms will allow Dana Wharf Sportfishing to prominently participate in the harbor’s revitalization by making certain upgrades to the exterior of its premises.
“Dana Wharf Sportfishing is requesting that the county allow them to incorporate part of the exterior common area of the retail core into their premises and give back to the County part of the exterior of their premises,” county staff stated in a report to supervisors. “This will result in no change to the actual square footage of their leased premises. Dana Wharf Sportfishing believes this will better serve their customers and allow them to provide a better service to the community.”
Supervisors approved a first amendment to the county’s lease agreement with Dana Wharf Sportfishing in 2014.
The lease between Orange County and Dana Wharf Sportfishing was set to expire on Oct. 31, 2022; the sportfishing company will remain at Dana Point Harbor until Oct. 31, 2032.
