Question: When you hook a large fish and it appears you will be in for a long battle. What is the best way to accept the challenge and ultimately reel in the fish?
John L. Campbell from the Marlin Club of San Diego:
You do not want to horse the fish in. Everything has to be done just right. Do not bring the fish in too fast. Sometimes it is best to reel a big fish in when it is exhausted. It is best to let things play out.
