Hot Bites: Still light fishing pressure at all the lakes on the Central Coast, but the bass bite is surging as the fish move into the spawn on all waters. Margarita is full and still spilling, and the bass have been particularly good with the fish in the spawn. Also decent crappie and bluegill bites. Lopez is at 60 percent of capacity and rising daily and the bass bite is very good here, too, with panfish action improving by the day. San Antonio is now 55 percent of capacity and the south shore will reopen on weekends-only beginning this Friday, April 14. The South Shore park and ramps will open May 19, with a full reopening, including the north shore ramps tentatively set for June 9. Nacimiento is at 90 percent capacity and the spotted bass action is excellent with the fish in full-spawn mode.
