Central Coast, April 20 Report

Hot Bites: Still relatively light fishing pressure at all the lakes on the Central Coast, but the bass bite is fair to good with most fish in the spawn or just past it. Margarita is full and still spilling, and the bass have been fair to good on plastics and reaction baits, but a lot of the bass are in a post spawn funk. Still decent crappie and bluegill bites. Lopez is at 61.7 percent of capacity and rising daily and the bass bite is good here, too, with panfish action improving by the day. San Antonio is 56 percent of capacity and the south shore reopened for weekends-only this past Friday. The South Shore park and ramps will open May 19, with a full reopening, including the north shore ramps tentatively set for June 9. No fishing report information. Nacimiento is at 90 percent capacity and the spotted bass action is excellent with the fish in full-spawn mode.
