High Desert Lakes, Jan. 12 Report

HESPERIA LAKE: The trout action has been good with weekly 1,000-pound plants of Mt. Lassen rainbows. Most are one to two pounds, but some from three to eight pounds or bigger in each stock. The best action has been near the drain on PowerBait. No fishing report this week. Information: 800-521-6332 or 760-244-5951.

JESS RANCH LAKES: The trout action has been slow to fair on PowerBait in salmon peach, garlic, and fluorescent orange, or inflated nightcrawlers. Most of the fish are in the two-pound class, but Danny Kodama, San Dimas, landed a 13.22-pound rainbow on a jig fishing from the north shore of Lake No. 2. The catfish bite has slowed, but a few bass continue to show on nightcrawlers or jerk baits. No bluegill reports. For more information call 760-240-1107 or go to jessranchlakesnews.com.
