FISHING UPDATE: Trout action is fair to good all over the county. Top bets this week are Poway and Jennings (both getting plants) with Wohlford, Dixon and Cuyamaca close behind. The bass action has been fair at most waters. San Vicente remains probably the best bet for bass with most of the fish showing in deep water on shiners, plastics, and jigs, but the cool weather has even slowed this bite down. El Capitan is also about as good. The panfish bites are really slowing down, but anglers should still keep an eye on the Lower Otay crappie bite. While there were no counts available again this week, that bite had been very hot.

FISH COUNTS: None available.

NOTEABLE CATCHES: At Murray, Ken Stokes of Los Angeles fished swimbaits to land three bass to 8 pounds on swim baits in Cowles Bay. At Jennings, Brian Thammavongsa and Tim Sokamnouay, both of Lemon Grove, each had limits of rainbows on crappie jigs in Hermit Cove and the top fish was a five-pounder.
