Fish Report-Freshwater, Nov. 26

HESPERIA LAKE: This week’s trout plant went in on Monday and last week’s plant was on Tuesday. Both plants were 1,000 pounds of Mt. Lassen rainbow trout with most in the two-pound range, but some bigger. The trout bite has been fair to good. Best fish reported was an eight-pounder landed by Paul Miracle, Lancaster, on yellow corn-flavored PowerBait. Marc Jensen, Oak Hills, had a 6-8 rainbow, while Kevin Morrissette, Hesperia, landed a 6-pounder. Bryant Mason, Rialto, landed a 4-8. Information: 800-521-6332 or 760-244-5951.

JESS RANCH LAKES: The trout bite has been up and down over the past week, but generally pretty good with a lot of two-pound class fish. Best action has been on PowerBait in salmon peach, rainbow, and garlic. Some fish on nightcrawlers, small trout jigs, Jake’s, Roostertails, and Thomas Buoyants. A few catfish to 5 pounds, and a few bass to three pounds also continue to show. For more information call (760)240-1107.

MOJAVE NARROWS: First DFW trout plant of the season last week. No word on county trout plants, which normally would have begun nearly a month ago. No fishing report. For lake information: 760-245-2226.
