HESPERIA LAKE: The catfish action has been fair since the last 1,500-pound plant July 27. Another 1,000-pound plant is tentatively scheduled for Thursday this week. Most of the fish showing are 1-4 to 2-8, and the best action has been on shrimp fishing at the Finger or the drain. Information: 800-521-6332 or 760-244-5951.

JESS RANCH LAKES: Trout bite was slow on both lakes thanks to the heat. A few fish around two pounds are showing on PowerBait in salmon peach, chartreuse, and rainbow, nightcrawlers, or small trout jigs and plastics. The bass bite has been slow to fair with fish to four pounds report, and the bluegill action is fair and a few catfish are starting to show.
