HESPERIA LAKE: Fair to good catfish action after a plant last Thursday which included some quality fish. Also a plant this Thursday. Best action has been on mackerel, shrimp, and garlic nightcrawlers. Top catfish reported was an 11 pounder landed by Charles Piggee, Victorville, on shrimp and mackerel off the north shore. Mike Williams, Moreno Valley, landed a 10-pounder, while Rick Hazard, Big Bear, landed an 8-8 cat. Wind Mingo, San Bernardino, had a 7-8 channel. Information: 800-521-6332 or 760-244-5951.

JESS RANCH LAKES: The trout bite was fair to good this past week with best action before noon on PowerBait in salmon peach, orange and garlic or nightcrawlers. The bass have been good with the fish in the shallows and showing on plastics and reaction baits. Catfish are also starting to turn on with the best bite on mackerel, shrimp, and nightcrawlers.
