High Desert Lakes, June 6

HESPERIA LAKE: Fair to good catfish action. Top fish were a pair of eight-pounders, one landed by Conchita Ramirez, Long Beach, and the other by Elvin Clausell, Alta Loma. One was caught on shrimp and one on mackerel. First fish were reported by Celeste Garcia, Adelanto — a two pound catfish, and Joseph Garcia, Adelanto, had a three-pounder for his first fish ever. JESS RANCH LAKES: The trout bite was very good this past week with best action before noon on PowerBait in salmon peach, orange and garlic or nightcrawlers. The bass have been good with the fish in the shallows and showing on plastics and reaction baits. Catfish are also starting to turn on with the best bite on mackerel, shrimp, and nightcrawlers.
