SANTA ANA RIVER LAKES: The best trout of the season was a 17-3 caught this past week by Steve Vasquez, Anaheim, on an orange and white MiceTail. Rick Kizee, Los Angeles, had an 8-8 rainbow on a Power Worm, while Chris Moss, Anaheim, landed a 6-8 on yellow corn PowerBait. Overall, fair trout action with most anglers getting a least one or two fish, and some getting full stringers of rainbows from one to three pounds. IRVINE LAKE: The lake is closed and will be for at least the immediate future.

LAGUNA NIGUEL LAKE: Trout plant this week. Next plants are slated for the week of March 6, and March 20. These are all 1,000-pound plants.
