CUCAMONGA-GUASTI: The trout action has been just fair to good this past week with few limits but a lot of one to three-fish stringers. Top area has been the back cove of the large lake. John Eddy, Alta Loma, landed a pair of trout at seven and three pounds on rainbow PowerBait. Jeremy Ancheta, San Bernardino, caught a 6-8 rainbow. Paul Kish, Baldwin Park, had three rainbows for a total weight of 8-8. County plants are each week on Thursday, and the DFW added trout three weeks ago. There will be Cosmic Fishing 6 to 11 p.m., Jan. 24, and a Junior Fishing Workshop has been slated for Feb. 22. Information: (909) 481-4205.

PRADO: The trout bite has been improving but the action is still just fair. The county trout plants are each week on Thursday. DFW trout went in this week and four weeks ago. The best action has been inflated nightcrawlers and chartreuse, rainbow or orange PowerBait fished near the spillway and in Basin No. 2. The third derby in the San Bernardino County Park five-derby circuit will be held here Feb. 22. Entry fee for all events is $20 plus vehicle entry fee. There is over $1,000 in cash and prizes for top anglers. There will also be junior fishing workshops for kids from seven to 15 Feb. 8 and April 12. Small boats (non-inflatable with a hard bottom) under 16 feet with electric motors are allowed. Information: (909) 597-4260.

YUCAIPA: Trout action has been fair with a few limits before noon for morning anglers. Mini jigs and yellow or rainbow PowerBait in garlic flavors with Power Dust or Hatchery Dust added are the top baits. Timmy Gaitan, Redlands, had a limit of five rainbows that weighed in at 17-8, and his top trout was a 9-8 rainbow. All were caught from the upper lake. County plants are each Thursday with trophy fish in each plant. DFW trout plants last week and next week. The second derby in the San Bernardino County Park five-derby circuit will be held here Jan. 25. Entry fee for all events is $20 plus vehicle entry fee. GLEN HELEN:
Trout fishing has been fair to good and the trophy fish in each plant are showing in decent numbers. DFW planted last week and are slated to add fish next week. The fifth and final derby in the San Bernardino County Park five-derby circuit will be held here Apr. 5. Entry fee for all events is $20 plus vehicle entry fee.
