CUCAMONGA-GUASTI: The trout action was just fair this last week, with few limits but a lot of one- to three-fish stringers. Best action has been on small jigs and PowerBait. County plants are each week on Thursday, and the DFW added trout last week and three weeks ago. There will be Cosmic Fishing from 6-11 p.m. Jan. 24. Information: (909) 481-4205.

PRADO: The trout bite has been improving, but the action is still just fair. The county trout plants are each week on Thursday. DFW trout went in two and three weeks ago. The best action has been on inflated nightcrawlers and chartreuse, rainbow or orange PowerBait, fished near the spillway and in Basin No. 2. The third derby in the San Bernardino County Park five-derby circuit will be held here Feb. 22. Entry fee for all events is $20, plus vehicle entry fee. There is more than $1,000 in cash and prizes at stake for top anglers. There will also be junior fishing workshops for kids from ages 7 to 15, Feb. 8 and April 12. Small boats (non-inflatable with a hard bottom) under 16 feet with electric motors are allowed. Information: (909) 597-4260.

YUCAIPA: Trout action has been good, with quite a few limits before noon for morning anglers. Mini jigs and rainbow PowerBait in garlic flavors with Power Dust or Hatchery Dust added are the top baits. County plants are each Thursday, with trophy fish in each plant. DFW trout plants this week and three weeks ago. The second derby in the San Bernardino County Park five-derby circuit will be held here Jan. 25. Entry fee for all events is $20, plus vehicle entry fee. There is more than $1,000 in cash and prizes at stake for top anglers. A junior fishing workshop for kids ages 7 to 15 is set for March 8. GLEN HELEN: Trout fishing has been fair to good, and the trophy fish in each plant are showing. County plants are Thursday each week. DFW planted two and four weeks ago. Most anglers are getting at least one or two trout, with a 1-pound average. The fifth and final derby in the San Bernardino County Park five-derby circuit will be held here April 5.
