MURRAY: The marina reports fair bass action with a decent surface and reaction bite early and then a decent live bait and plastic bite. Nick Bap, San Diego, had four bass to4 pounds on shiners in Del Cerro, while Brandon Mauk, San Diego, landed a 6-pounder on a swim bait in Padre. The redear and bluegill bite is fair to good on worms with some limits reported this week. Austin Michaels, San Diego, caught and released a 2 pound redear on a red worm off the fishing pier. WOHLFORD: The bass bite has been good on smaller fish to 3 pounds with the action up early in the day and then in deeper water. Cranks best early and then plastics. Some nice crappie were caught this past week with the fog/cloud cover. Miles Palmore, San Diego, had 21 crappie on shiners with some to nearly two pounds. Catfish fair to good in most coves. DOANE POND: DFW trout plant this week.

DIXON LAKE: Catfish are fair to good on shrimp in Whisker Bay. Yuangui Sun, San Diego, caught a 14-11 catfish on a nightcrawler in Trout Cove. Isaac, Joseph, and Benjamin Magana, all San Diego, had a stringer of catfish to 3-3. Bass are fair with plastics, nightcrawlers, and trout swimbaits the best bet. Mike Dispensiero, San Marcos, landed a 6-5 bass on a trout swimbait near the boat dock. Trout very slow with only the odd fishing showing from deep water. Lake information: 760-839-4680.

POWAY: The bass action has been good with a lot of 2-pound class fish on plastics and swimbaits, especially along the eastern shore and the fishing pier. Catfish are pretty fair on cut baits at the log boom and fishing pier. The first catfish stock is set for Friday with night fishing to start after that. JENNINGS: The catfish bite has been good after plant three weeks ago and last week. A few fish topping six pounds reported, but most two to four pounds. The best bite has been in deeper water on mackerel, chicken liver, or dough baits. Bass are fair to good but most of the fish are small, under three pounds, and showing on reaction baits or plastics. MORENA: The bass action has been fair to good with some quality fish reported. The best bite has been on swim baits for bigger fish, but plastics, nightcrawlers, smaller reaction baits, and jigs have all be getting fish. Some catfish showing on cut baits and this bite is improving with the warmer weather, but the bluegill, crappie, and carp bites are all still off.
