TOP NEWS: Fishing pressure remained very light over the past week. Action is still generally slow all along the river for all species, but the warm weather in recent days did perk a few bite. The top bets have been the striper action in Lake Mohave from the dam to Katherine’s Landing for anglers fishing bait or small swimbaits. The bite on stripers in the river between Needles and Bullhead is also improving. There is also fair trout action in the Davis Camp and Rotary Park areas of the river near Bullhead City, and trout were planted last week. There will be one more plants in February. Lastly, the smallmouth bass bite is pretty fair for anglers targeting these fish from Mohave downstream. The best action has been on crawdad-like jigs or lures fishing on rocky structure or rip rap.
