TOP NEWS: In Havasu and Mohave, the bites have really taken off, especially for stripers, largemouth, and smallmouth bass, but the fishing pressure is still pretty light. In Mohave, both the smallmouth and largemouth bass have moved shallow and are still mostly on beds, and the stripers are showing in all the coves and points with most starting to move up-lake, away from the dams. A few bigger fish are already being caught at Willow Beach. In the Bullhead stretch, a lot of small stripers to two pounds are being caught. In Havasu, all of the coves have largemouth and the smallmouth are on the rocky points, both in shallow water still on beds. Topoc Marsh and Topoc Gorge are both very good for largemouths, stripers, and panfish. Topoc Marsh remains fair to good for smaller stripers, mostly on cut anchovies. Trout planted early this year are still showing in decent numbers in the river at Davis Camp, Big Bend, and the Community Park in the Bullhead area. Catfish are improving, especially in backwaters, ditches, and canals all along the lower river, and the flatheads are starting to show in good numbers from Havasu south.
