TOP NEWS: Not a lot of change in the action, and fishing pressure remains relatively light. Fair to good action for most species, and the striper action is really picking up as weather cools. In Havasu and Mohave, the surface bite on stripers is pretty good most mornings in the south ends of both lakes with a lot of fish from five to seven pounds, and there are a lot of small stripers (under three pounds) showing in the main river from Davis Dam to Topoc Gorge. There are pretty good bites for largemouth and smallmouth all along the river, but Topoc Marsh and the lower river backwaters are really turning on. The bass are up chasing baitfish early and late in the day. The bluegill and redear bites are improving with a pretty fair bite. Lots of smaller fish, but some decent fish showing from deeper water on live bait. The best spots for quality redear are in Havasu and Topoc Gorge with fish to three pounds. The flathead catfish bite in the lower river has been slow to fair in the main river. The channel catfish bite is also good in the main river stretches, but also in all the reservoirs. The trout plants are regular again in the Laughlin/Bullhead City stretch of the river and the bite is pretty good on spinners, PowerBait, and anchovy pieces for the pan-sized rainbows. Allen and Tina Jordan, Bullhead City, had five-fish limits of rainbow trout, all around a pounds, fishing meal worms. There are also weekly trout plants at Willow Beach and the bite on rainbows has been good and a few stripers to 10 pounds reported.
