Colorado River, Feb 4 report

TOP NEWS: Very light fishing pressure all along the Colorado River. The top bites have been the striper action in Lake Mohave and Lake Havasu. Mohave has been the better of the two with slow to fair action, with Havasu a little slower. In Lake Mohave, the fish are showing in the mouths of coves and off points from Katherine’s Landing to the dam. Most are one to three pounders, but there are eight to 15 pounders in this action. In Havasu, the bite is also in the southern end of the lake, mostly on cut baits in deep water. Some stripers are also showing below Davis Dam in the river around Bullhead City. Trout action improved in below Davis Camp and in the Rotary Park areas after plants in both areas two weeks ago. Most are pan-sized, but some to three pounds. Small spinners or spoons have been getting limits. Other species mostly slow.
