TOP FISHING NEWS: In the Bridgeport region, the East and West Walker rivers remain open year-around to catch-and-release fishing. The East Walker has been fair to good with flows steady at around 50 cfs, and the trout showing on small nymphs with a few on streamers. Most of the fish are 12- to 16-inches with some bigger. In the Mammoth region, Hot Creek and the upper Owens River above Benton Crossing remain open, and the fishing has been picking up on the upper Owens and trout start to move up out of Crowley into the Hot Fingers stretch of the river. Hot Creek is fair to good with caddis and midge hatches most days. In the Bishop region, the lower Owens River, including the gorge below Crowley Lake, remains open to year-around fishing, but the flows remain high below the gorge with flows over 350 cfs below Pleasant Valley Reservoir. Very difficult fishing, but some decent trout are showing for drift-boat anglers.
