BRIDGEPORT REGION: Few reports this past week. There has been slow to fair trout action on the East Walker River with the best action at mid-day. Flows have been in the 30-35 cfs range with small midges the best bet. Information: Ken’s Sporting Goods (760) 932-7707.
MAMMOTH AREA: Hot Creek and the Upper Owens River remain open to catch-and-release fishing. The Owens River remains good with a lot of quality rainbows from two to four pounds being caught in the river by fly anglers. Even some hatches. Hot Creek has been fair with caddis and midge activity and some mayfly hatches in the mornings on nice days. Information: The Troutfitter at (760) 934-2517.
BISHOP AND BIG PINE AREA: Pleasant Valley Reservoir has been slow to fair with only a few fish showing for float tubers fishing jigs or floating baits. The Owens River gorge is fair in the afternoons. The lower Owens has been good with some surprisingly big holdover rainbows showing for float anglers. LONE PINE TO INDEPENDENCE AREA: The lower, lower Owens is getting very little fishing pressure. No reports.
