GENERAL UPDATE: The general season closed Sunday, Nov. 15. A number of waters remain open to year-around, catch-and-release fishing.
TOP NEWS: Snow. Great gobs of snow. Almost no fishing pressure anywhere since the weekend, but the portions of the East and West Walker rivers, most of the Owens River, and Hot Creek remain open to catch-and-release fishing. Before the latest round of storms, the Owens River above Crowley Lake was seeing a flush of big rainbows up out of the lake (which is ice-covered). No reports from the East or West Walker rivers, but Hot Creek has had some pretty good midge and baetis hatches this past week. The lower Owens River has low flows and fair action on small nymphs or streamers.
