GENERAL UPDATE: The general season will reopen April 30. A number of waters remain open to year-around, catch-and-release fishing. Top Eastern Sierra fishing report web sites are: www.KensSport.com (Bridgeport region), www.TheTroutFly.com, and www.SierraDrifters.com.
TOP NEWS: Little change here. The few anglers fishing the upper Owens above Crowley continue to see a few big rainbows and cutthroat hybrids, but there is just slow to fair action on fish to four pounds or better. The East Walker River has had little pressure and flows have come up to 40 cfs, but anglers fishing are still only getting a few rainbows for a day of fishing. The Miracle Mile stretch is OK, but the best bite is below the bridge all the way into Nevada. The West Walker River is still slow to fair with light pressure. Hot Creek continues to have some pretty good midge and baetis hatches but light fishing pressure. The lower Owens River has low flows and fair action on small nymphs or streamers.
