Fishing license for 2017 will be available this month

California anglers can purchase their sport fishing license for 2017 beginning Nov. 15. Licenses will be available at select locations and online. Visit this website for more information about where you can purchase a fishing license. Online purchases can also be made on the website.

Licenses are valid from Jan. 1 to Dec. 31. Resident licenses are $47.01 per person and available to anyone age 16 and older; nonresident licenses are $126.36 per person.

Other types of licenses, including rates for veterans and non-annual permits, are also available. Rates for alternative and discounted licenses are published on the Department of Fish and Wildlife licensing website.

The purchase prices are the same regardless of when a license is bought.
