1. The bite on bluefin tuna moves back into the top spot this week, even though the size of the fish went from “behemoth” to “quality” over the past week. The pigs over 100 pounds are still out there, but it was two-fish limit fishing on 20 to 60-pounders this week. Most of the action is on 1.5-day trips out of San Diego. 2. The big swimbait bite for stripers is starting now that trout plant season is in full swing. Top bet for this bite is a toss-up between Diamond Valley Lake or Castaic Lake, both had plants recently and both produced a few bigger fish. 3. The 39th Annual Dixon Lake Trout Derby will be this weekend (Dec. 1-3) will be the place to be for trout anglers. The event starts 6 p.m. Friday and runs through 4 p.m. Sunday. There will be 6,000 pounds of trout planted this week while the lake is closed to fishing, and another 6,000 pounds have already been planted so far this season.
