1. At Diamond Valley Lake, there have been a number of quality striped bass up to nearly 20 pounds in the past week for anglers hurling big, trout-like swimbaits, and considering the light fishing pressure this is the top bet for anglers wanting to catch a big striper. And you don’t necessarily need a boat for this action, the biggest fish this past week was caught from shore. For an update on the bite, call the marina at 951-926-7201 or Last Chance Bait and Tackle at 951-658-7410.
2. The Lake Skinner striper bite has been pretty solid for the past month, and it has been steadily improving the last two weeks. The trick for both numbers and quality has been live shad, but some nice fish are also showing on cut baits. There have been fish up to nearly 10 pounds again this past week. For an update on this bite, check with the marina staff at 951-926-8515.
3. The Silverwood trout bite stays in the top spots this week after another DFW trout plant this past week and brown trout the week before that. Good anglers should be able to get a limit of fish averaging about a pound with a shot at fish to two pounds or better. For an update on this bite, check with the marina at 760-389-2299.
