Boat-based recreational anglers can start fishing for rockfish, cabezon and greenlings between Point Conception and the U.S.-Mexico border beginning March 1; the season continues through Dec. 31.

Anglers can reel in any of these fish in waters with depths of 300 feet or less. The daily bag limit is 10 fish in combination per person, including a cap of three cabezons and three bocaccios per person.

Caught cabezon must be at least 15 inches; the state minimum for kelp or rock greenlings is 12 inches.

Separately, the daily bag limit for recreational white seabass is reduced to one March 15; the recreational lobster season ends March 18.

Lobster hunters can start submitting their respective report card harvest data beginning March 20.
