Despite windy conditions, anglers braving the rocking and rough seas continue to find good rockfish action along much of the coast, with near-limit or limit-style fishing on full-day trips and decent catches on shorter trips. For example, at Channel Islands Sportfishing on April 14, most of the boats battled conditions and went out on everything from overnight to half-day trips. The overnight boats all had limits, the full-day boats had limits or near limits, and the three-quarter and half-day trips both had about half limits. Pacific Star out of Pierpoint Landing was on a local two-day trip and returned with two-day limits of rockfish, including a lot of quality reds and lings, but the anglers on board were buffeted around both days by the weather.
