John Beaman, an angler from Tustin, stamped his ticket to the Masters with a winning catch at Irvine Lake in Silverado. Beaman reeled in a rainbow trout weighing in at more than 10 pounds, earning the Tustin angler first place at Irvine Lake’s Masters Tournament. The first place finish earned Beaman a check for $1,598 and a trip to the Masters. Beaman caught the rainbow trout March 28 with a nightcrawler and Bite on Row at the lake’s Sierra Cove.
