While yellowfin showing for the long-range boats already is not the sign albacore anglers wanted to see, there is still hope for a longfin season, after the first fish was caught last week. Spotter planes out June 12 and 13 week saw no albacore, but they did see huge jumping schools of bluefin, just 80 to 200 miles south of San Diego. The albacore/bluefin bite could happen — stay tuned.
