The yellowtail and barracuda bite at and around the Los Coronados islands has also been excellent throughout this past week going into the new moon July 19. Many days, the three-quarter-day and overnight boats out of San Diego fishing this bite have returned with limits of barracuda and 30 to 40 or more yellowtail per trip. The yellowtail action is up and down, depending on winds and tides, but it has been generally good and getting better for a month in a very sustained bite. The barracuda have generally sunk out for just a couple of days around the new moon, but have popped back up quickly afterward.
