The warm water has pushed all the way up into the Catalina Channel, and dorado — and yellowtail — are showing in good numbers off San Onofre and Point Vicente, and even on the Huntington Flats and oil rigs. They have not been biting much yet, but the fish are there in an unusual early appearance for these exotics. They are likely to go on the bite this week or going into the full moon Aug. 31.
