TOP NEWS: Plants have all but ended for the season with just four locations planted this week (see trout plants). The top action: Crowley Lake continues to be good for rainbows and cutthroats from 16 to 24-inches for fly anglers fishing midges and perch fry imitations. It probably has the best fishing in the region right now, as other waters slow way down. Other decent bets include Virginia Lakes, Silver and Grant lakes in the June Lake loop, and Convict Lake.
Top catches: At Convict Lake, John Smith landed an 8-8 brown trout.
