HESPERIA LAKE: Catfish plant last Thursday and this Thursday. Catfish action has been fair to good and the top action has been on shrimp or the M&M (marshmallow-meal worm) combo. Top catfish reported was a nine-pounder caught by Shawn Merenda, Adelanto, on the M&M (marshmallow-meal worm) combo. Mike Turner, Victorville, landed an 8 1/2-pounder, while Cynthia Knapp, Altadena, had an eight-pounder. Information: 800-521-6332 or 760-244-5951.

JESS RANCH LAKES: Fair trout action with best action still before 10 a.m. Most of the rainbows at two pounds. Best bite has been on PowerBait (especially salmon peach, rainbow and spring green), jigs, lures and nightcrawlers. The catfish bite has also been pretty good for the few anglers fishing nightcrawlers and shrimp. Bass have been good on Senkos and nightcrawlers.
