Catalina, San Clemente and Los Coronados islands have all been slower this past week. The yellowtail are still at the Coronado islands, but the fish scattered some and went into a non-biting mode in this between-moon-phase period. San Clemente Island has a huge volume of calico bass, including a good number of quality fish at 4 pounds or better, along with a few yellowtail from 12 to 15 pounds. Catalina continued to have wind problems on the back side this past week, but they are subsiding and the white seabass bite is starting to perk. There is also a good calico bass bite on the front side. Pursuit out of 22nd Street Landing was at Catalina on a full-day trip early this week with 23 anglers, and they caught 22 white seabass, 162 calicos, 100 perch and 25 sheephead.
