The volume of yellowtail and white seabass at structure spots all along the Southern California coast — from the La Jolla kelp up to Rocky Point and even farther north — has been very good. While only a few sportboats are targeting this action in San Diego at the La Jolla kelp, the action has been for private boaters throughout this region. New Seaforth out of Seaforth Sportfishing was out July 17 on a morning half-day trip with 60 anglers, and they landed 21 yellowtail, 30 barracuda and a white seabass off the La Jolla Kelp.
