2014 ends with school-size action, erratic fishing
Red Rooster III will be the last boat to come home for Christmas, arriving Tuesday, Dec. 23. She departed again on a five-day trip Friday, Dec. 26. Skipper Andy Cates posted for Red Rooster III Dec. 19:
“Yesterday we had pretty good action on school-size fish. Our biggest fish weighed about 75 pounds. We did see some bigger fish but got no bites from them. We ended the day with 90 tuna that we kept.”
La Paz Anglers Find Mix
Jonathan Roldan posted December 21, the shortest day of the year:
“It was a little windy here and there and kinda bouncy and rough a few days, but that’s typical this time of year. As I’ve mentioned often, we are only fishing with our fleet at Las Arenas/ Bahia de Los Muertos because it’s calmer there, and the fish are closer and there’s more variety. With our La Paz fleet, it’s just too rough many days and a long bumpy ride to the fishing grounds for erratic fishing.”
