The long-range fleet is focusing on the Cedros and Benitos islands region of Mexico for the yellowtail. On July 3, Royal Polaris was at Cedros Island on the second day of fishing heading south, and the anglers on board boated 40 quality yellowtail to 30-plus pounds, three halibut and a white seabass. The day before, these anglers got into a hot bite on bluefin tuna and boated 80 to 30 pounds. That kind of fishing has been typical of the five to 10-day trips.
