Western Sierra, July 26 Report

LAKE ISABELLA: The catfish bite has remained very consistent with pretty decent action on clams, SonnyĆs Dip Bait, and cut baits with a lot of 3 to 6 pounds fish and some to 10 pounds or better. The crappie bite has slowed way down, but the bass action has been fair to good with most of the action in 10 to 25 feet of water, mostly on drop-shot plastics, but a few on cranks or topwater early and late in the day. A few trout continue to show in deeper water at the auxiliary dam, Camp 9, and many fish have moved up into the river to reach cooler water. The carp bite remains less consistent, but still pretty good on dough baits with fish to 8 pounds.
