You have to wonder what’s going on in the Pacific Ocean. Even with the warm water and tropical conditions, there is still an incredible volume of both market squid and the white seabass that eat them. Squid have been showing off Del Mar, Newport Beach, the Huntington Beach oil rigs, Catalina Island (front and back) and San Clemente Island, because there are squid all these places. Seabass have been quieter during the dark of the moon, but with the full moon coming Aug. 31, the conditions point to yet another good flurry of action at Catalina, San Clemente Island, and up into the Channel Islands.
