HIGH DESERT LAKES     

HESPERIA LAKE: Trout action remains good with plants Tuesday this week and Wednesday next week. The best action has been on PowerBaits, nightcrawlers, and small trout jigs. Big fish of the week was a 10.2-pound rainbow caught by Sang Nguyen, San Bernardino, on rainbow PowerBait. Alex Duran, Rosemead, landed an 8.4-pounder, while Tom Rodriguez, Victorville, had an eight-pounder. Seven-pound rainbows were reported by Steve Holland, Santa Clarita, and Marcos Alcantar, San Bernardino. Ruben Rodrigues, Victorville, had a five-fish limit that weighed in at 16.8 pounds total. JESS RANCH: Good trout action on PowerBait in garlic, rainbow, orange and salmon peach, nightcrawlers, and small trout jigs and lures. Top trout reported was a 5-2 rainbow landed by Jerry Young, Apple Valley, on rainbow and garlic PowerBaits mixed together. Mark Logan, Rancho Cucamonga, had a 4-3 rainbo, while Kim Paulson, Yorba Linda, landed a 3-6 trout. For more information call (760)240-1107.

MOJAVE NARROWS: Good trout action. The best bite has continued to be on garlic-scented nightcrawlers and floating baits. County trout plants are Thursday each week and the DFW also added trout last week and is slated to plant next week. Top rainbow was a seven-pounder caught by Brad West, Hesperia, on sherbert PowerBait from Horseshoe Lake. Eric Espinoza, Colton, landed three trout and his best was a three pounder. The fourth derby in the San Bernardino County Park five-derby circuit will be held here Mar. 22. Entry fee for all events is $20 plus vehicle entry fee.
