HESPERIA LAKE: Good catfish action with 1,000-pound plants last Thursday and this Thursday. The best action has been on shrimp, mackerel, the marshmallow-meal worm combo, or garlic nightcrawlers. Most of the fish are in the two to three-pound range, but bigger fish are in each plant. Top catfish this past week were fish at 10 and 12 pounds caught by Eddie and Betty Ayala, Hesperia, fishing mackerel off the Sandy Point. Kenny Kilgore, Hesperia, landed a nine-pounder, while Tommy Mobley, Victorville, landed an eight-pounder. Rodney Russell, Riveside, had a seven-pound catfish. JESS RANCH LAKES: Trout action was slow to fair with anglers using Power Bait (especially salmon peach, rainbow and orange), jigs, lures and nightcrawlers. Hot spots included the western and eastern shores of lake 3 as well as the western and northern shores of lake 2. Anglers are reporting fair to good bass action on Senkos with fish to 5 pounds.
